Culina Group Limited in Portsmouth invites applications for a NIGHTS HGV Class 1 Driver. You will operate refrigerated articulated vehicles, delivering and collecting chilled stock across the UK, working 4 on 4 off nights with start times around 22:00–00:00.

Role requires safe paperwork handling, strong communication, and a commitment to compliance with RTD and drivers’ hours. Training is provided, with multiple shift patterns and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 licence required.
• CPC qualification required.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and drivers hours.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Complete paperwork accurately.
• Follow health and safety rules and hygiene policies.
• Maintain knowledge of transport operations within the dept.
• Manage own working time in line with RTD.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and temperature checks.
• Ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Aim for fuel efficiency targets set by the business.
• Undertake other duties as reasonably required.

Job Description

This role is a 4 on 4 off Nights position!

Are you an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver, or newly qualified and ready to begin your driving career? We are recruiting dependable drivers to join our team in Portsmouth. Experience is welcome but not essential—we are happy to invest in drivers who have the right attitude, are willing to learn and are committed to completing the required training.

In your role as a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be operating refrigerated articulated vehicles, delivering and collecting chilled stock from Local and Regional Distribution Centres as well as Farms and Packhouses across the UK.

Shift patterns available

• 4 on 4 off Nights

Start times between 22:00 - 00:00

Pay rates

• Monday to Friday 04:00 - 20:00 - £16.91 per hour
• Monday to Friday 20:00 - 04:00 - £20.29 per hour
• Saturday 04:00 - 20:00 - £19.45 per hour
• Saturday 20:00 - 04:00 - £21.14 per hour
• Sunday and Bank Holiday04:00 - 20:00 - £20.29 per hour
• Sunday and Bank Holiday 20:00 - 04:00 - £21.98 per hour

What you'll be doing:

• Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork
• Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygiene
• Maintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport department
• Effectively manage own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
• Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all times
• Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedure
• Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks
• Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery
• Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the business
• Any other duties as reasonably required

Qualifications

• Possessionof HGVClass 1 Licence
• Current CPC
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadline
