Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for Minworth on a 4 on 4 off days shift. You will carry out safe deliveries to customer premises and palletised general haulage to regional DCs with occasional night outs. Start times are 06:00–18:00 with overtime supplements.

You’ll work in a fast-paced, customer-focused operation. We value safety, reliability and professional customer service, with pay rates starting around £16.49 per hour plus overtime.

Qualifications

• Valid C+ELicence and DCPC cards are required.
• 12 months HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• Good understanding of Driver’s Hours and Working Time Directive.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and professional conduct on delivery duties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, often backdoor tip.
• Occasional night out may be required.
• Report delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies to Transport promptly.
• Complete paperwork and ensure PODs are signed and returned.
• Follow health, safety and hygiene standards and tachograph rules.
• Maintain vehicle and trailer, perform daily checks and report defects.
