Job summary

Fowler Welch in Washington, UK is seeking professional HGV Class 1 Drivers for a permanent, full-time role delivering to retail customers across the UK. You will join a supportive transport team, with a focus on safe driving, dependable delivery standards and excellent customer service. Various shifts are available with opportunities for overtime.

Roles include RDC, Farms and Packhouse deliveries, with completed paperwork and PODs required at each handover. Training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• We have a variety of roles including Night Outs, Trunking, Scotland Return Runs and local store deliveries.
• Complete nationwide deliveries of palletised goods to Regional Distribution Centres, Farms and Packhouses
• Report to the Transport team at shift start and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.

Job Description

We’re looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Culina Logistics team in Washington, supporting our Chilled operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK.

This is a permanent role offering full-time stability for HGV Class 1 drivers who will be responsible for RDC, Farms and Packhouse deliveries. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. You’ll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day.

• Sunday to Thursday (Start window 00:01 - 04:00)
• Tuesday to Saturday (Start window 02:00 - 06:00, 04:00 - 08:00, 14:00 - 18:00)
• Thursday to Monday (Start window 02:00 - 06:00, 04:00 - 08:00, 12:00 - 16:00)
• Friday to Monday (Start window 00:01 - 04:00, 08:00 - 12:00)
• Friday to Tuesday (Start Window 04:00 - 08:00_

Pay rates

• Pay rates range from £13.50 - £21.91 per hour depending on shift, plus opportunity for overtime and subsistence allowances
