Job summary

Unify are recruiting a Class 1 HGV Driver to join our Wakefield depot, delivering and collecting powered access and related equipment. You will perform safety checks and assist in pre-delivery inspections in the workshop, ensuring customer service remains high.

Ideally you will hold a valid Class 1 licence, CPC and Tachograph card, with knowledge of driver hours. The role is permanent, full-time with early starts and potential overtime, and requires the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 HGV licence with a clean driving record.
• CPC qualification and a valid Tachograph card.
• The right to work in the UK.
• Experience transporting heavy plant machinery or similar equipment is highly desirable.
• Solid knowledge of driver hours and tachograph regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for driver holidays on both Class 1 and 2 Vehicles.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly to ensure compliance.
• Assist in the depot workshop with pre-delivery inspections of powered access machinery.
• Collection and delivery of hire machinery to and from customer sites.
• Load, secure and unload machinery in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Handover of machinery following company code of practice.
• Comply with vehicle safety, company policies and health and safety requirements.
• Daily completion of vehicle checks and keeping the vehicle in good condition and clean.
• Manage own working time to deliver and collect powered access in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Adhere to all legal requirements and company standards concerning road safety and driver hours.

What do I need?
