Job summary

Driver Hire is seeking Class 1 Day or Night Drivers in Slough. Starts range from 11am to 1pm for day shifts and 11pm to 1am for night shifts, with various 4-on-4 off or other patterns available. PAYE salary includes holiday pay, with potential increases for a 6th day every other week.

Day shifts start from 11:00–13:00; Nights from 23:00–01:00, with annual pay from £59,280 to £72,072 depending on shifts worked. Flexible start times and long-distance overnights are common in this role.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a minimum of 2 years demonstrable experience.
• Full 5 year employment history with no more than 28-day gaps in employment – provided via HMRC Gateway Port al.

Responsibilities

• Long distance driving with frequent overnights.

• Be prepared to sit driving assessments with approved testers.

• £59,280 pa based on 60 hours per week Mon to Fri with the ability to increase to £65,208 pa if you work a 6th day every other week.

Nights (11pm, 12am or 1am starts)

• £65,520 pa based on 60 hours per week Mon to Fri with the ability to increase to £72,072 pa if you work a 6th day every other week.

Salary is paid through PAYE and is INCLUSIVE OF HOLIDAY PAY

We can also offer other shifts patterns such as 4 on 4 off, 5 on 3 off, 6 on 2 off etc etc, however please note the salary figures per annum change in line with the days worked.

Flexible start times available on Day or Night shifts starting from 0100 to Midnight.

Our customer is a leading player within the Cargo airfreight industry who have secured a large contract with UK’s largest airline, as such are looking to increase their current workforce. We are looking for drivers who are prepared to be flexible in their approach and are prepared to do long distance driving with frequent overnights, alongside waiting around the horse shoe.

Company Requirements:

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card


• Valid Driver Qualification (CPC) Card


• Valid C+E Entitlement with minimum of 2 years experience


• Maximum 6 points on license – DR, DD or IN conviction codes will not be accepted


• Full 5 Year employment history with no more than 28-day gaps in employment – You must be able provide your 5 Year employment history using HMRC’s Government Gateway Portal and provide to us in PDF Forward.


• DBS dated within the last 10 weeks (not essential as we can assist you in obtaining one)


• Valid Cargo Operative Certificate Level D (not essential as we can assist you in obtaining one)


• Dangerous Good Category 8 desired (not essential as we can assist you in obtaining one)


• Manual Handling training (not essential as we can assist you in obtaining this)


• Health & Safety Awareness training (not essential as we can assist you in obtaining this)


• Working at heights awareness training (not essential as we can assist you in obtaining this)


• Be ok to sit a driving assessment with one of the customers approved driving asessors.
