Job summary

Freeway recruitment are looking for Class 1 night drivers for our client based in Barnsley, specialising in general haulage, three separate runs ranging from start times 17:00-19:00. This role includes no handballing. All run descriptions as per below.

Pay rate: £17.00 (Holiday Accrued) £19.05 (Holiday Paid out).

Qualifications

• Follow Health & Safety practises and procedures at all times.
• Be reliable with excellent time keeping.
• Good command of English both written and spoken.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Geographic knowledge of UK road network.
• Smart appearance and professional work ethic.
• Check in transport before parking up for the night.
• Hold a valid Class 1 driving licence.
• Hold a valid Digital tachograph card.
• Hold a valid Driver CPC card.
• No more than 6 points on licence for separate 3pt offences.
• 2 work reference checks.
• 2 years Class 1 experience required due to insurance restrictions.

Responsibilities

• 17:00-19:00 runs from Barnsley to Leeds/Rotherham with 2-3 drops and back to Barnsley.
• No handballing required on these runs.

17:00-19:00 -Barnsley > Leeds/Rotherham pick up, 2-3 dropsand back to Barnsley.

17:00 Barnsley pick up, 2-3 drops and back to Barnsley.

Experience in double decker trailers is preferred but not required.

Requirements:

• Be competent and able to follow Health & Safety practises and procedures at all time

• Be reliable and hold excellent time keeping

• Hold a flexible can do attitude to your work

• Good command of English both written and spoken

• Excellent communication skills

• Keep vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times

• Have excellent geographic knowledge of UK road network

• Have a positive attitude and a professional work ethic

• Smart appearance, as you will be representing Freeway Recruitment & our client

• check in transport before parking up for the night.

Qualifications / training / experience:

• Valid Class 1 driving licence

• Valid Digital tachograph card

• Valid Driver CPC card

• Have No more than 6 current points on licence for separate 3pt offences (No DR/DD/IN Driving offences accepted)

• 2 work check-able work references

• 2 years Class 1 experience required due to insurance restrictions
