Job summary

Culina in the United Kingdom is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver for permanent full-time roles with a night-friendly start window (00:00–04:00) and a Thursday–Monday pattern. You will deliver safely to customer sites and regional distribution centres, often performing backdoor tip work.

The role requires a valid C+E license, CPC and tachograph compliance, with weekend uplift and overtime. A supportive benefits package includes generous annual leave and pension options.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E license and Digital Tachograph cards.
• Minimum 12 months HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• No more than 6 points and no DD/DR convictions.
• Good understanding of Driver’s Hours and Working Time Directive.
• Excellent communication and professional approach.
• On-site health and safety commitment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, with most deliveries completed as backdoor tip.
• Support occasional driver tipping or multi-drop deliveries depending on customer demand.
• Occasional Night out may be required.
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and communicate any delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies promptly.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company rules and procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and adhere to tachograph rules and regulations.
• Complete daily vehicle checks in line with company procedure and report defects correctly.
• Taking responsibility for the unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintaining a high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.

HGV Class 1 Driver- Days| Permanent Full-Time Opportunities

Start Times: 00:00am - 04:00am

Available Shift Patterns: Thursday - Monday

Salary: £17.04 per hour, plus a £1.50 per hour uplift for weekend shifts. Overtime is paid at 1.3x the hourly ratefor all hours over 50 hours per week.
