Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd is recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E) in Rugby. Roles involve trunking between depots, parcel deliveries, and occasional yard work with training available for new drivers. Shifts include days and nights with competitive hourly rates and opportunities to earn more as of November.

Drivers must hold a Class 1 licence with C+E entitlement, valid DCPC and tachograph card, and have up to 6 points. Strong safety focus and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E) is required.
• DCPC in date and Digital Tachograph card required.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Excellent communication skills and a safety-first mindset are essential.

Responsibilities

• Trunking between depots and ensuring timely, safe deliveries.
• Collect parcels from customers and perform full trailer collections and swap operations.
• Handle occasional push roller cages and assist with yard movements when needed.
• Reverse, manoeuvre and shunt vehicles with precision; conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company policies; coordinate with dispatch for timely deliveries.

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Rugby area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

0 experience needed!

FREE Onsite Refresher Training offered to Newly Qualified drivers.

Hours: Days/Nights across Monday to Sunday with various start times available, average shift length of 12 hours.

+£2 Per hour from 22nd of November!

Pay Rates:

• Monday - Thursday : £15.50 to £19.72
• Friday: £16.46 to £20.52
• Saturday: £16.76 to £21.91
• Sunday: £19.55 to £23.12

Location: Rugby, CV23.

Job Type: Long term ongoing.

The role:

• Trunking between depots, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels.
• Collect parcels from well-known customers, including full trailer collections, drop and swap operations.
• Handle occasional push roller cages as needed, assisting sites with movement when required.
• Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision, including shunting duties when required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers' hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
