Job summary

TRCGroup in Coventry is recruiting newly qualified drivers. Training is available to help you qualify for the role, with assessments offered ASAP. This is a long-term ongoing position designed to support your start in logistics.

Shifts run Sunday to Friday with both full-time and part-time options. Start windows 13:00–17:00 or 20:00–01:00, with days, nights and weekend premiums. Average shift 10–12 hours; on-site clinic and dedicated recruitment support are provided to help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with C+E entitlement.
• Flexible start times within given windows.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Max 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Assessment passed (theory & practical).
• Understanding of Working Time Directive.
• Excellent communication and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Trunking between depots with safe parcel delivery.
• Collect high-value goods from customers; trailer swaps used.
• Occasional handling of push roller cages.
• Precise reversing and yard maneuvering, including shunting.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Adhere to traffic laws and safety standards.
• Communicate with dispatch and logistics teams.

Shift Patterns

• Across Sunday to Friday (full-time and part-time options available) – Monday and Friday are priority shifts.

Start time windows

• Between 13:00 – 17:00
• Between 20:00 – 01:00

Pay (including rolled-up holiday pay)

Weeks 1–12

• Days (6am – 10pm): £20.22 per hour
• Nights (10pm – 6am): £20.50 per hour
• Weekends (Saturday & Sunday): £20.50 per hour

13+ Weeks

• Days (6am – 10pm): £20.50 per hour
• Nights (10pm – 6am): £21.06 per hour
• 6th Shift – Days (6am – 10pm): £30.75 per hour
• 6th Shift – Nights (10pm – 6am): £31.31 per hour
• Bank Holiday – Days (7am – 10pm): £41.00 per hour
• Bank Holiday – Nights (10pm – 6am): £41.56 per hour

Average shift length: 10–12 hours (guaranteed 8 hours)

Key Responsibilities

• Trunking between depots, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels containing high-value goods.
• Collecting high-value goods from well-known customers, including full trailer collections, drop and swap operations.
• Occasional handling of push roller cages as required.
• Precise reversing and manoeuvring in yards, including shunting duties when needed.
• Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Adhering to traffic laws, regulations, and company safety standards.
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 (C+E) entitlement.
• Ability to be flexible with start times within the above windows (drivers can choose their preferred window).
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Maximum of 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Successful completion of assessment (theory & practical).
• Understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills and a safety-first mindset.
