Job summary

Workchain is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for a temporary day-shift role in Ross-on-Wye. You will drive safely, complete deliveries and collections to schedule, and perform vehicle checks.

The role offers hourly pay of £18.00–£19.00, weekly pay on Wednesdays, and the chance to work with a reliable transport team in a flexible, local operation.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence
• Current Driver CPC and tachograph card
• Experience driving commercially
• Sound knowledge of vehicle safety and load security

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly
• Complete deliveries and collections within schedules
• Carry out vehicle checks and report defects
• Secure loads correctly using load straps
• Complete paperwork and digital records accurately
• Communicate professionally with transport teams, customers and site contacts
• Follow road safety, legal and company procedures

• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly

• Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects or issues

• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately

• Follow all relevant road safety, legal and company procedures

Skills and qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence
• Current Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Good knowledge of vehicle safety and load security
• Confident using load straps and securing palletised goods
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
• Professional manner and good communication skills
• Able to work independently while supporting the wider transport team
