Job summary

Booker Group, the UK leading food & drink wholesaler, invites applications for a Fareham Distribution Centre Class 1 Driver. You will perform multi-drop deliveries to independent retailers, ensuring paperwork is complete and your vehicle is ready for shift start.

The role requires a Class 1 licence, Driver CPC, and flexible shifts including weekends; overtime and fully funded CPC training hours are available; drug and alcohol tests are part of pre-employment.

Qualifications

• Class 1 licence holder.
• Driver CPC holder.
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
• Experience of multi-drop deliveries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver stock safely to independent retailers.
• Complete several multi-drop deliveries daily; vary by route.
• Complete paperwork after each delivery.
• Ensure vehicle is in good condition at start and end of shift.
• Work autonomously and as part of the transport team.

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Fareham Distribution Centre as a Class 1 Driver.

The successful applicants will be required to work 45 hours per week, working any five from seven days on a variety of shift patterns, so there will be Saturday or Sunday working dependent on rotas.

Our Class 2 jobs do require handball and manual work which can be a physically demanding. This includes working outside in adverse weather conditions and handballing product at some of the delivery points.

Please note that all candidates will have to undertake a drug and alcohol test as part of the pre-employment tests.

In this position, you will be responsible for the safe delivery of stock to our independent retailers stores.

Completing several multi-drop deliveries a day (the amount each day will vary).

Ensuring all paperwork is completed after delivery.

That your vehicle is in good condition at the start and finish of your shift.

Working autonomously as well as part of the wider transport team.

Class 1 Licence Holder.

Driver CPC Holder.

Ability to deliver excellent customer service.

Experience of multi-drop; temperature controlled food deliveries preferred, but not essential.

Routes vary daily and therefore successful applicants will need to be flexible in work and hours of work (including at short notice).

Please note that all candidates will have to undertake a drug and alcohol test as part of the pre-employment tests.

Schedules are:

45 hour contract with an alternating 2 weekly rota

• WK-1 Monday - Friday with WK -2 Monday-Saturday with a day off in the week

40 Hour Contract

• Wk 1 - Monday Tuesday,Thursday,Friday and Wk 2 - Monday,tuesday,friday,saturday
