Job summary

Booker is recruiting for a Class 1 Driver at our Fareham Distribution Centre. You will deliver stock to independent retailers, completing multiple daily drops across varied routes with paperwork completed after each delivery.

You will operate autonomously within the transport team, and ensure the vehicle is in good condition at the start and end of your shift. Full training and Ongoing CPC hours are provided, with overtime opportunities and a rota including weekends.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Licence held and valid.
• Driver CPC holder is required.
• Experience with multi-drop deliveries preferred, temperature-controlled deliveries optional.

Responsibilities

• Deliver stock to independent retailers' stores.
• Complete multiple deliveries per day with variable routes.
• Ensure paperwork is completed after each delivery.
• Keep vehicle in good condition at start and end of shift.
• Operate autonomously and as part of the transport team.

The successful applicants will be required to work 45 hours per week, working any five from seven days on a variety of shift patterns, so there will be Saturday or Sunday working dependent on rotas.

Our Class 2 jobs do require handball and manual work which can be a physically demanding. This includes working outside in adverse weather conditions and handballing product at some of the delivery points.

Please note that all candidates will have to undertake a drug and alcohol test as part of the pre-employment tests.

You will be responsible for

In this position, you will be responsible for the safe delivery of stock to our independent retailers stores.

Completing several multi-drop deliveries a day (the amount each day will vary).

Ensuring all paperwork is completed after delivery.

That your vehicle is in good condition at the start and finish of your shift.

Working autonomously as well as part of the wider transport team.

You will need

Class 1 Licence Holder.

Driver CPC Holder.

Ability to deliver excellent customer service.

Experience of multi-drop; temperature controlled food deliveries preferred, but not essential.

Routes vary daily and therefore successful applicants will need to be flexible in work and hours of work (including at short notice).

Please note that all candidates will have to undertake a drug and alcohol test as part of the pre-employment tests.

Schedules are:

45 hour contract with an alternating 2 weekly rota

• WK-1 Monday - Friday with WK -2 Monday-Saturday with a day off in the week

40 Hour Contract

• Wk 1 - Monday Tuesday,Thursday,Friday and Wk 2 - Monday,tuesday,friday,saturday
