Pertemps Birmingham Commercial seeks an HGV Class 1 Driver for a temporary contract based in Coventry. The role involves delivering to retail park stores from a box vehicle, with two to three drops daily and minimal handball. Pay ranges from £18.52 to £29.49 per hour, dependent on overtime and shift pattern. Shifts start between 03:30-06:00 for days or 12:00-15:00 for afternoons, running Tuesday to Saturday. Candidates require a valid HGV Class 1 licence and previous driving experience. This position offers regular work with a leading retail company, prioritising bay deliveries to large shops with limited physical unloading. HGV Class 1 Driver – Coventry £18.52 to £29.49 per hour based on Overtime and shift pattern. Pertemps are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers on behalf of a leading retail company based in the Coventry area. This is an ongoing role delivering to shops generally on retail parks on a regular shift pattern. The work would include minimal handball however some unloading at the shops will be necessary and would be 2 to 3 drops on average. Based in a box vehicle unit.

The Role:

• Local or Distance bay deliveries to large stores on retail parks 2 to 3 drops or collections on a daily basis
• Start times on days between 03:30hrs to 06:00hrs and start times on afternoons between 12:00hrs & 15:00hrs
• Small amount of handball needed but minimal
• Regular shift pattern on Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday but a weekend day is essential to the work pattern
• Ensuring timely and professional deliveries to customers
• Completing all relevant paperwork and vehicle checks
• Pay Rates: £18.52 per hour on Days £19.66 per hour on Afternoons Overtime premiums and weekend rates between £27.78 and £29.49 per hour with all work done after eight hours per shift

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence
• Valid CPC and Digi Card
• Minimum 6 months Class 1 driving experience required
• Previous RDC work experience desirable
• Comfortable with paperwork
• Ok to complete full assessment including theory, practical & Drug and alcohol test upon arrivcal
• Good customer service skills and reliability
