Job description

The Recruitment Crowd is currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Barnsley area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Hours: Choose your own shift times from 1300 until midnight

Pay Rates:

• AFTERS: Monday to Thursday £16.87, Friday £17.60, Saturday £18.29 & Sunday £18.61 PAYE
• NIGHTS: Monday to Thursday £17.59, Friday £18.10, Saturday £20.69 & Sunday £21.96 PAYE

Location: Barnsley, S74

Job Type: Long-term, ongoing

The role includes:

• Trunking to one depot, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels.
• Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision.
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhering to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain safety.
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

• At least 3 months' HGV driving experience.
• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Valid and in-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Successful completion of practical and theory assessments.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Work all year round.
• Ability to choose shifts from lunchtime onwards to suit all availabilities.
• Access to clinic days on-site for training and support.
• Onsite recruitment team available for daily assistance.
