Job summary

CDI - Russell Taylor in Birkenhead is recruiting Class 1 and Class 2 HGV drivers for roles across the UK. The position covers highways and new-build housing projects with about 80% labouring and 20% driving, and weekend shifts may be available.

Shifts run 7:00am–5:00pm on weekdays with 10-hour shifts; travel often required with hotel accommodation when away. Start ASAP; contract temp to perm, initial 8-9 months with potential to become permanent.

Qualifications

The Role

We are currently recruiting Class 1 and Class 2 HGV Drivers for work based in Birkenhead, covering projects across the UK.

The work is primarily within highways and new-build housing projects, involving approximately 80% labouring and 20% driving. Drivers will be required to assist with cleaning out lines and other site-based duties alongside driving responsibilities.

The work can involve travelling throughout the UK, with locations changing from week to week. Tramping is required, and drivers may be provided with hotel accommodation when working away. Some weeks may involve being away for the entire week.

Requirements

• Class 1 or Class 2 licence
• Minimum 3 months' relevant experience
• CSCS card - approximately £175
• Highway Passport - approximately £40
• Comfortable with manual gearbox vehicles
• Flexible to travel and work away from home when required
• Willing to carry out both driving and labouring duties

Induction & Training

A 30-minute induction will be completed on the first day. Additional training will be provided for drivers required to undertake night shifts.
