Job summary

GXO Logistics is hiring full-time HGV Class 1 Drivers at our Basingstoke depot for Sainsbury’s, with a 48-hour week across any 5 from 7 shifts. Hourly rates range from £25.08 to £26.01, with 30 days leave, a workplace pension, and access to the Hapi App for discounts.

Applicants must have a full UK driving licence with C+E, tachograph cards, and a clean record, and should be familiar with the South England road network. GXO offers a path for career development and multiskilling.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence with C+E entitlement.
• Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards.
• No more than 6 penalty points in total.
• Knowledge of South England road network.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customer stores and collect goods from suppliers accurately.
• Operate refrigerated trailers safely and maintain correct temperatures.
• Complete all required paperwork on time and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with Driver hours, Tachograph and road regulations.

Job description

Here at GXO Logistics, we are currently looking for the full-time, permanent HGV Class 1 Drivers to join us at our depot in Basingstoke for our client, one of the largest chain of supermarkets in the UK, Sainsbury’s.

You will be contracted to work 48 hours per week on the shift pattern of Any 5 from 7.

• Hourly rate of £25.08 on shifts starting between 10:00 - 17:59
• Hourly rate of £26.01 on shifts starting between 18:00 - 03:59

What you will do on a typical day:

• Deliver products to customer’s stores and collect goods from suppliers accurately, in a timely and professional manner
• Operate refrigerated trailers in a safe, legal, and efficient manner ensuring correct temperature settings
• Complete all necessary paperwork correctly, in full and on time
• Be compliant with Driver’s hours, Tachograph, Working Time, and Road Traffic Act regulations

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement
• Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards
• No more than 6 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements within the previous 5 years
• Knowledge of South England road network
