Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for Day Trunking work in Sherburn in Elmet, Leeds. You will support daily trunk runs to Oxford and back on a Monday to Friday day shift with a standard start around 06:00 and possible adjustments due to production.

Role requires Class 1 (C+E), CPC, tachograph card, and strong safety compliance. Temporary to permanent opportunity with extensive overtime options.

Qualifications

• Essential: HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
• Wagon and drag with drawbar experience or willingness to learn.
• De-mountable box experience or willingness to learn.
• Driver CPC Qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Maximum 6 penalty points.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 Day Trunking, to Oxford and back.
• Day work, Monday to Friday, usually starting around 06:00 (may shift if Manufacturing changes).
• Fulfill daily trunk duties with safety and regulatory adherence.

The Best Connection is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our Client's Sherburn in Elmet Transport Team, supporting operations with a daily trunk run to Oxford and returning loaded, Monday to Friday on days..

The Role

This role is Class 1 HGV Day Trunking using wagon and drag equipment with drawbar trailer and de-mountable boxes.

Day work Monday to Friday. Start times can vary slightly depending on factory/Manufacturing output but usually 06.00. Flexibility is required with this as starts can be delayed to 10.00 or so if Manufacturing has delayed production.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
• Either wagon and drag with drawbar experience or a willingness to learn
• Either de-mountable box experience or a willingness to learn.
• Driver CPC Qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Maximum 6 penalty points
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance

Preferred

• Minimum 6 months Class 1 driving experience
• Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
