Job summary

The NWH Group, a leading UK recycling and waste management business, is seeking an HGV Apprentice Driver. You will begin your journey towards becoming a fully qualified Class 2 Driver while gaining practical experience within our operations.

During your apprenticeship, you will initially operate a company van while developing your knowledge and completing formal HGV training. You will be responsible for driving, supporting routes, safety checks, and providing customer service.

Qualifications

• Interest in becoming a professional HGV driver.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
• Full UK driving licence (Category B) and ability to meet HGV medical requirements.
• No previous HGV experience required; training and development provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive a company van to support collections and deliveries.
• Assist experienced HGV drivers on routes to gain hands-on experience.
• Learn how to safely operate HGV vehicles in line with legal requirements.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• Follow health and road safety regulations and provide excellent customer service.
• Work towards obtaining your HGV licence and CPC qualification.
