Driver Hire Edinburgh City are recruiting Class 2 Drivers to join a waste management and recycling company based in East Lothian.

As a Class 2 Skip Driver, you will safely operate a Class 2 skip vehicle, deliver, exchange and collect skips for commercial and domestic customers, and work Monday to Friday with a 6:15am start.

This temp-to-perm role offers at least 40 hours per week, overtime opportunities, and weekly pay. Newly qualified drivers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Newly qualified drivers welcome to apply.
• Experience in skip, waste or Class 2 is advantageous but not essential.

Responsabilités

• Safely operate a Class 2 skip vehicle.
• Deliver, exchange and collect skips for customers.
• Work across East Lothian and surrounding areas.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.

Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting Class 2 Drivers to join a well-established waste management and recycling company based in East Lothian.

Newly qualified Class 2 drivers are welcome to apply, so this could be a great opportunity if you’ve recently passed your Class 2 test and are looking to gain your first professional driving experience.

You’ll be working Monday to Friday on a temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position with the client.

The Role

As a Class 2 Skip Driver, you’ll be responsible for the safe delivery, exchange and collection of skips for commercial and domestic customers.

Your duties will include:

• Safely operating a Class 2 skip vehicle
• Delivering, exchanging and collecting skips
• Working across East Lothian and the surrounding areas
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects
• Ensuring skips and loads are handled and transported safely
• Following company procedures and health & safety requirements
• Providing a professional and friendly service to customers
• Maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
• Monday to Friday
• 6:15am starts
• Minimum 40 hours per week guaranteed
• Overtime opportunities available
• Temp-to-perm opportunity
• Opportunity to secure a permanent position after the temporary period

PAYE

• £15.00 per hour
• £19.99 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

• £16.81 per hour
• £22.40 per hour after 8 hours
• Newly passed Class 2 drivers welcome
• Minimum 40 hours guaranteed per week
• Monday to Friday working

What We’re Looking For

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence

• Previous skip, waste or Class 2 experience is advantageous but not essential
• Good understanding of safe working practices
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a hands-on environment
