Job summary

Aligra Personnel Ltd in Padworth near Reading is seeking an experienced HGV 2 Driver / Workshop Assistant. The role mixes driving vans, 7.5t and HGV 2 vehicles with hands-on workshop tasks, 50/50 split, in a modern workshop environment.

You will transport vehicles to MOT centres and workshops, assist with light repairs and routine maintenance, and support the workshop team to keep operations smooth while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV 2 driving licence with a clean driving record.
• Experience driving vans and 7.5t/HGV 2 vehicles.
• Basic mechanical knowledge or willingness to learn workshop tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Good communication and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Drive vans, 7.5t and HGV 2 to workshops and MOT centres.
• Assist with minor damage repairs and routine vehicle maintenance.
• Support workshop staff with day-to-day tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
• Loading and unloading vehicles as required.
• Maintaining accurate records of vehicle movements and maintenance activities.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards during all activities.

£17.72 per hour | Monday to Friday, 10:00 am - 7:30 pm

Join a dynamic team based near Reading, where you'll split your time 50/50 driving vans, 7.5t, and HGV 2 vehicles to and from workshops and MOT centres, and assisting with minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
