Job summary

The National Trust for Scotland is seeking friendly and proactive individuals to join the Weavers Cottage team. You will welcome visitors, share stories about Kilbarchan and the Glasgow cluster, and lead daily demonstrations of weaving on a cottage loom.

You will promote membership, upsell shop items, and work across sites with volunteers to deliver memorable experiences. Training will be provided; flexibility is essential to cover weekends and Bank Holidays as part of a rota.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role
• Excellent storytelling and presentation skills
• Ability to lead a tour and adapt to different groups
• Excellent communication with visitors and colleagues
• Strong teamwork and collaboration across departments
• Proactive upselling of shop and membership products
• Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays
• Interest in weaving, heritage crafts or textile history

Responsibilities

• Provide a consistently high standard of visitor care and welcome visitors from around the world
• Share stories about the sites and promote memberships and shop items
• Upsell products and run retail/service activities within a busy heritage property
• Lead tours, adjust itineraries to suit groups, and maintain presentation standards
• Support events setup, housekeeping and safety across the site and volunteers
