Heritage Project Managers - Central and Local Government

We are looking for Project Managers with experience in the Central and Local Government sector to join our Central and Local Government Real Estate team. You will lead and manage projects that deliver value to the public sector and preserve built heritage, using innovative and sustainable approaches. You will work with high-profile clients and stakeholders on a range of interesting and historically important projects across the South East. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to the environment and society.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Being the key liaison with the client, contractors, and designers
  • Conducting background research, data collection, and benchmarking
  • Working on heritage, historical, residential, or mixed-use projects, at the enabling stage
  • Monitoring and documenting project progress and performance indicators
  • Preparing formal project progress and other reports
  • Preparing presentation materials for client pitches

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working on historically challenging or listed buildings, liaising with planning authorities, Historic England, and The 20th Century Society
  • A strategic, solution-oriented approach to problems
  • Willingness to travel to London, Home Counties, and South East when necessary
  • Preferred qualifications and experience include:
    • Cognate qualification (construction, real estate, planning, engineering)
    • Holding or working towards MRICS or MCIOB
    • Understanding of the development lifecycle (business case, design, consents, procurement, delivery, handover, management)
    • Experience with on-site construction under JCT or NEC contracts
