Job summary

The Methodist Church is seeking a Heritage Officer to support management of historic places of worship and spaces across Britain, delivering the Methodist Heritage Strategy 2026-2032 and fostering a sustainable, welcoming visitor experience. You will work with accredited museums, chapels, and volunteers to advance interpretation and outreach in a mission-focused context.

This role requires a practicing Christian and offers flexible remote options, with on-site work in London for certain duties

Qualifications

• Experienced Christian heritage professional.
• Occupational requirement to be a practicing Christian.
• Remote/homeworking arrangements possible, salary may vary accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate best practice for the Church in heritage management across sites.
• Advise on collection care and conservation.
• Develop engaging interpretation and outreach strategies.
• Collaborate with national museums, chapels and volunteers to deliver the heritage strategy.
