Job summary

The Methodist Church is seeking a Heritage Officer to support the management of its historic places of worship and spaces across Britain, and to champion Methodist Heritage in line with our strategy.

The role focuses on interpretation, audience development, and building a compelling visitor offer across museums and chapels, including exploring pilgrimage opportunities. It requires a committed Christian with heritage experience and a collaborative, cross-team approach.

Qualifications

• Experienced Christian heritage professional with passion for Methodist Heritage.
• Experience working with national accredited museums and heritage sites.
• Ability to coordinate with volunteers and staff across teams.

Responsibilities

• Support management of Methodist historic places of worship and spaces across Britain.
• Advocate for Methodist Heritage and contribute to the 2026–2032 strategy.
• Develop an integrated visitor offer and resource pilgrimage opportunities at historic chapels.
• Collaborate with volunteers, networks, and staff to ensure best heritage practice.
