Job summary

English Heritage is seeking a Landscape Manager to oversee landscape management and grounds maintenance across Kent and East Sussex estates. You will lead on contracts, budgets and inspections, ensuring heritage standards and safety compliance.

The role supports a portfolio including Dover Castle, Walmer and Deal, with site-based or home-based options and a 36-hour week. Flexible working and career progression in the heritage sector are offered.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in landscape management, environmental management, horticulture or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Good knowledge of landscape conservation, environmental management and grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, including health and safety, CDM, tree safety, reservoirs and play areas.
• Understanding of biodiversity and habitat management.
• Strong contract and contractor management skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Lead landscape management and grounds maintenance across the Kent and East Sussex estates.
• Manage contracts, supervise works, and audit quality on site.
• Coordinate maintenance, projects and day-to-day service priorities with site teams.
• Ensure asset information, maintenance schedules and records are up to date in K2 CAFM.
