Job summary

FarmWell near Warminster, Wiltshire, is seeking a herdsperson to join a three-person self-relieving team. You will support the herd manager with milking, calving, fertility management, grassland care, feeding, yard work, herd health, calf rearing and meticulous record keeping.

The role offers an above-average salary, 100 days off and a rent-free three-bedroom house in the village. No overseas applicants without a work visa.

Job description

Due to retirement, we have an exciting contract vacancy on a grazing farm near Warminster in Wiltshire; the unit being one of two run by the farmer on the same estate.

The unit has the following features:

• 430 Spring calved cows
• 25:50 Waikato Parlour with simple feeders and Mount Pleasant backing gate
• Excellent infrastructure of tracks and paddocks
• Covered handling facilities
• Cubicles with mattresses (cows not outwintered)
• Easy feed and self-feed grass and maize silage

We require a herdsperson, looking for their next move, preferably with current experience on a similar system, to work as part of a three-person self-relieving team. Your role will be supporting the excellent herd manager with all tasks such as milking, calving, fertility management, grassland management, feeding, yard work, herd health, calf rearing and record keeping. You will be a tidy worker with a can-do attitude.
