Job summary

LKL Services Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic dairy farm assistant near Middlewich, Cheshire to help manage a high yielding Holstein herd. You will participate in milking, AI and foot trimming, calf rearing, and general stock husbandry to support herd performance.

Job description

We require an enthusiastic individual to help manage the cows on a high yielding dairy farm near Middlewich in Cheshire.

Key responsibilities will include milking of the high yielding herd, AI and foot trimming (pref), calf rearing, herd health & fertility, and general stock husbandry tasks. The farm has a modern 30:30 rapid exit parlour with; ACRs, ADF, milk meters and Auto ID to milk the 300 Pedigree Holstein cows yielding 9,000 litres.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude to learning, good stockmanship skills, be a good communicator and able to work well in a team to help develop the herd and improve on current performance. Experience with high yielding pedigree Holsteins would be an advantage, but training would be given to the right applicant.
