Job description

A leading hedge fund is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Operations Analyst to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with portfolio managers and traders, supporting the full trade life cycle and driving process improvements through automation and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily trade operations, including trade booking, validation, settlement, reconciliation, and corporate actions.
• Liaise with prime brokers on trade-related matters, margin calls, and securities lending.
• Support the trading and investment teams with operational controls across multiple asset classes.
• Participate in process engineering initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Identify workflow issues and implement automation solutions using Python and VBA.
• Contribute to operational risk management and ensure robust controls are in place.

Requirements:

• University degree in a STEM discipline (1st or 2.1 minimum preferred).
• 1-4 years of relevant experience in trading operations (recent graduates with strong internships will be considered)
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; highly motivated and detail-oriented.
• Proficiency in Python and/or VBA for process automation and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with senior management and external counterparties.
• Experience with trade management systems (e.g., Markitwire, ICE-Link) is advantageous.
