Job summary

Royal Mail in Nottingham is seeking professional Vehicle Technicians for a permanent role at the Nottingham Workshop. You will diagnose, maintain and repair a range of vehicles and trailers, contributing to a robust fleet operation.

The role offers a base salary of £40,906 plus shift allowances, with overtime potential and a welcome bonus of £1,500. Career development and training are provided within a modern workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified to at least Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience working on a wide range of vehicles (LCV/LGV).
• Full manual driving licence (LGV preferred with trailer experience).

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnosis, maintenance and repair on vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment.
• Work on a range of makes and models to keep Royal Mail vehicles on the road.
• Utilise toolkit provided; participate in routine servicing and safety checks.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards and support training updates as required.

Job description

We are now recruiting Vehicle Technicians at Nottingham Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £60k including overtime.

Salary: £40,906 per annum plus a shift allowance of £90.21 per week when working the 13:30 - 22:00 shift. A weekend supplement for Saturday (£53.66 per attendance) shift attendance is applicable.

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1 & 2: 06:00 - 14:30, week 3: 13:30 - 22:00) You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off)

If your working background is mainly in the light vehicle sector Royal Mail will provide inhouse and external training to help develop your career in the HGV industry, including MOT inspection standards, LOLAR regulations training and vehicle diagnostics training

We are looking for professional vehicle technicians to perform a full range of inspections, diagnosis, maintenance and repair procedures on a range of vehicle, trailers and mechanical equipment operated by Royal Mail Group. As a team player who takes real pride in their work, you’ll be prepared to go the extra mile to ensure the job is done effectively.

As an experienced technician you will have your own personal toolkit equipped to undertake routine maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles. Specialist tooling and equipment will be provided for common use by everyone within the workshop.

Successful candidates must be fully qualified to at least advanced level Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification) and have proven (via CV) experience of working on a wide range of vehicles for example LCV/LGV. We also require you to have a full manual driving licence (LGV preferred with trailer experience).
