Job summary

NEOS Engineering is seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter for their mobile service team in Dundee, Scotland. You will maintain and repair a fleet of construction plant at client sites, ensuring machines stay productive on site.

This hands-on, field-based role involves diagnosing faults across engines, hydraulics and electrics, plus travel to various Dundee locations and completing service paperwork with a strong emphasis on safety.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and repairing excavators, dumpers, loading shovels and similar machines.
• Good fault-finding across engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrics.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Plant or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent.
• CSCS card or willingness to obtain one.
• Welding or fabrication skills would be beneficial.
• Experience on aggregates or quarry plant would be advantageous.

Heavy Plant Fitter

Salary: Up to £18.50 per hour

NEOS Engineering is working with an established group in the Dundee area and is looking for an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to join their mobile service team, maintaining and repairing a fleet of construction plant.

This is a hands-on, field-based role, working across a varied fleet and keeping machines productive on site. There may also be exposure to aggregates plant.

• Carry out mobile servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs on heavy construction plant.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults and complete repairs on site.
• Travel to customer and site locations across the Dundee area.
• Complete service sheets, job paperwork and inspection reports accurately.
• Work safely at all times and to company health and safety standards.
• Support the wider service and workshop team when required.

The Candidate

We're looking for a practical Heavy Plant Fitter with experience working on construction plant, ideally in a mobile or field-based environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience servicing and repairing excavators, dumpers, loading shovels and similar machines.
• Good fault-finding skills across engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrics.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload on site.
• A strong focus on safety and a tidy, professional approach.
• A full UK driving licence.
• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Plant or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent experience.
• CSCS card or willingness to obtain one.
• Welding or fabrication skills would be beneficial.
• Experience on aggregates or quarry plant would be advantageous.

Previous experience working on a mixed fleet of construction plant would be particularly useful.
