Job summary

NEOS Engineering is seeking a skilled Heavy Plant Fitter to join our mobile service team in the Dundee area. You will maintain and repair a fleet of construction plant, performing mobile servicing and on-site repairs to keep machines productive on site.

This hands-on, field-based role travels to customer sites across the Dundee area and may involve exposure to aggregates plant. A full UK driving licence is required, with NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Plant preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy construction plant.
• Good fault-finding skills across engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrics.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload on site.
• Safety-focused and professional on site.

Heavy Plant Fitter

Location: Dundee, Scotland

Salary: Up to £18.50 per hour

NEOS Engineering is working with an established group in the Dundee area and is looking for an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to join their mobile service team, maintaining and repairing a fleet of construction plant.

This is a hands‑on, field‑based role, working across a varied fleet and keeping machines productive on site. There may also be exposure to aggregates plant.

The Role

• Carry out mobile servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs on heavy construction plant.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults and complete repairs on site.
• Travel to customer and site locations across the Dundee area.
• Complete service sheets, job paperwork and inspection reports accurately.
• Work safely at all times and to company health and safety standards.
• Support the wider service and workshop team when required.

The Candidate

We’re looking for a practical Heavy Plant Fitter with experience working on construction plant, ideally in a mobile or field‑based environment.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience servicing and repairing excavators, dumpers, loading shovels and similar machines.
• Good fault‑finding skills across engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrics.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload on site.
• A strong focus on safety and a tidy, professional approach.
• A full UK driving licence.

Relevant qualifications

• NVQ or City & Guilds Level3 in Heavy Plant or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent experience.
• CSCS card or willingness to obtain one.
• Welding or fabrication skills would be beneficial.
• Experience on aggregates or quarry plant would be advantageous.
• Previous experience working on a mixed fleet of construction plant would be particularly useful.
