Job summary

Lennard Business Services is recruiting for a Heavy Plant Fitter for an immediate start on a temp-to-perm basis at a mining site. The role covers maintenance, repair and commissioning of forklift trucks, small loaders, 2.5 tonne slews, and scooptrams on site, with a focus on safety and accurate record-keeping. Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical fitting / Plant Maintenance or a similar qualification.

Hours are 08:00–16:30, Mon–Fri (40 hours). An hourly rate of £21.87 (approx.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining, repairing and commissioning plant on site.
• Ability to implement and manage PPM schemes and defect reporting.
• Proactive focus on safety and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair forklift trucks, small loaders, 2.5 tonne slews, scooptrams and other site plant.
• Implement PPM scheme and close out defects.
• Perform brake testing and monthly safety checks on all equipment.
• Keep up-to-date plant records and ensure safe working practices.

Job description

My client is urgently seeking a Heavy Plant Fitter for an immediate start on a temp to perm basis for their mining site, commutable from Bath / Bristol / Chippenham area.

Temp to Permanent Position

Duties are:

• Maintaining, repair, commissioning of forklift trucks, small loaders, 2.5 tonne slews, scooptrams etc and all plant on site.
• Implementation of PPM Scheme, defect reporting and close out.
• Brake testing
• Monthly safety checks to all equipment
• Maintaining all plant records etc
• A commitment to safe working practices.

Candidates must have experience in the above and ideally hold NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical fitting / Plant Maintenance or similar field qualification.

Working Shift is 08.00 – 16.30 Mon – Friday 40 hours per week.

Rate of pay : £21.87 per hour = £45,500 per year (temp in interim accrues holiday pay)

Overtime worked above 40 hours per week paid at 1.5 rate – Paid at £32.80 per hour

Full UK clean driving licence

Upon making permanent after 12 weeks
