Job summary

Arthur Rose Recruitment Ltd is seeking Platers in Staveley, near Chesterfield, to fabricate heavy structural steelwork including bridges, gantries and stairs. The role requires strong MIG welding skills, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and working as part of a skilled fabrication team.

Hours are a 4-day week, Monday to Thursday, with a pay rate up to £18.00 per hour (DOE) plus regular overtime.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in heavy fabrication, plating or structural steelwork.
• Strong MIG welding ability.
• Ability to work independently from technical drawings.
• Apprenticeship, NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications are advantageous

Responsibilities

• Fabricating heavy structural steelwork including bridges, gantries and stair structures.
• MIG welding to a high standard.
• Reading and working from engineering drawings.
• Measuring, marking out, assembling and fitting steel components.
• Working as part of a skilled and supportive fabrication team.
