Caterpillar in Stockton requires a skilled welder for an ongoing 24-month assignment. You will build and weld heavy-duty fixtures using MIG and MMA methods, ensuring strict tolerances and safety.

The role supports a 3-shift rotation with competitive pay rates and potential for permanent opportunities. Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding, strong blueprint reading, and experience in heavy engineering or automotive settings.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Experience in MIG and MMA welding.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld to tight tolerances.
• Flexibility to work across Days, Backs, and Night shift rotations.
• Desirable: experience in heavy engineering or automotive manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and weld heavy-duty fixtures and assemblies to tight tolerances.
• Weld using MIG and MMA processes to high engineering standards.
• Follow standard work procedures with focus on safety.
• Collaborate with production teams and take ownership of tasks.
• Perform manual handling and lifting as per safety guidelines.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure fault-free welds.
