Job summary

Caterpillar in Stockton is seeking a Skilled Welder for an ongoing 24-month contract. You will build and weld heavy-duty fixtures using MIG and MMA to tight tolerances, with a focus on safety and quality. Shifts rotate across days, backs and nights with overtime pay available.

NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding is required, along with proven welding experience and strong blueprint reading. This is a site-based role offering on-site parking and opportunities to transition to a permanent

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding (or equivalent time-served apprenticeship).
• Proven industrial experience in MIG and MMA welding.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to weld to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Build and weld heavy-duty fixtures and assemblies to strict tolerances.
• Work using MIG and MMA welding processes to high engineering standards.
• Follow standard work procedures with emphasis on safety.
• Collaborate with production teams and take ownership of tasks.
• Perform standard manual handling and lifting per safety guidelines.
• Conduct detailed quality checks to ensure fault-free output on every weld.
