Job summary

Caterpillar (CAT) in Stockton is seeking a Skilled Welder for an ongoing temporary assignment. The role covers Day, Back, and Night shifts with strong emphasis on MIG/MMA welding to tight tolerances.

Pay includes various shift rates and overtime; there is potential to move to a permanent Caterpillar position. Suitable candidates hold NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding and have hands-on experience in heavy welding.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding (or equivalent time-served apprenticeship).
• Proven industrial experience in MIG and MMA welding.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to weld to tight tolerances.
• Full availability to work across Days, Backs, and Night shift rotations.

Responsibilities

• Build and weld heavy-duty fixtures and assemblies to strict tolerances.
• Work using MIG and MMA welding processes to high engineering standards.
• Follow standard work procedures with a zero-compromise attitude toward safety.
• Collaborate with production teams and take ownership of tasks.
• Perform standard manual handling and lifting per safety guidelines.
• Conduct detailed quality checks to ensure fault-free output on every weld.
