Job summary

Better Planet is seeking a Heat Pump Engineer to install, commission and maintain ground and air source heat pump systems for domestic and commercial clients across the UK. You will interpret design documents, coordinate with building services engineers, and ensure MCS standards and internal quality guidelines are met.

Day-to-day work includes site surveys, diagnostics and performance optimization, with collaboration on related technologies like underfloor heating, MVHR and solar PV.

Qualifications

• Proven experience installing, commissioning and servicing ground and air source heat pumps.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, layouts and project planning documents.
• Knowledge of solar PV, underfloor heating and MVHR and their integration with heat pumps.
• Familiarity with UK building regulations, MCS requirements and health & safety standards for mechanical/electrical installs.
• Strong communication to provide clear technical and financial guidance to clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and diagnose system performance.
• Install, commission and maintain ground and air source heat pump systems for domestic/commercial clients.
• Troubleshoot issues and optimise system performance.
• Coordinate with project team and other technologies (underfloor heating, MVHR, solar PV).
• Communicate with clients about operation, maintenance and best practices.
