Total Carbon Savings Ltd is seeking an Air Source Heat Pump Engineer for a full-time, on-site role based in the North of England and Wales. You will install, commission and maintain air source heat pump systems in domestic and light commercial properties, conduct site surveys, interpret designs, connect and test equipment, and diagnose faults.

The role requires knowledge of energy efficiency, UK regulations, and strong on-site communication, with a driving licence and willingness to travel

Competenze

• Strong technical skills in ASHP installation, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding.
• Experience with plumbing and heating systems, including pipework, controls and hydronic systems.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency principles and low-carbon technologies.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications and manufacturer documentation.
• Familiarity with UK building regulations, MCS standards and health and safety requirements.
• Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on-site with colleagues, clients and contractors.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the North of England and Wales Areas, with some overnight stays when multiple installations in the same area.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in the North of England and Wales Areas. The Air Source Heat Pump Engineer will install, commission, and maintain air source heat pump systems in domestic and light commercial properties, ensuring safe and efficient operation in line with industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site surveys, interpreting design specifications, connecting and testing equipment, and diagnosing and resolving system faults. The engineer will complete accurate documentation, provide clear guidance to customers on system use and maintenance, and work closely with project managers and other trades to deliver quality installations on schedule. The role also involves adherence to health and safety regulations, continuous learning on emerging technologies, and supporting energy efficiency schemes from private customers to grant funded and financed schemes.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in air source heat pump installation, commissioning, servicing, and fault-finding.
• Experience with general plumbing and heating systems, including pipework, controls, and hydronic systems.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency principles, and low-carbon technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturer documentation.
• Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent); heat pump certifications are essential.
• Familiarity with UK building regulations, MCS standards, and health and safety requirements.
• Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on-site with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel within the North of England and Wales Areas, with some overnight expensed stays when multiple installations in the same area.
• Previous experience in renewable heating or air source heat pumps is preferred, but candidates with strong related experience and a willingness to learn will be considered.
