Job summary

Salix Homes is seeking a Heat Network & Renewable Energy Officer to manage and improve communal and district heat networks, ensuring safe, reliable and fair services for residents. You’ll sit in the Assets, Development and Sustainability Directorate and report to the Sustainability Manager.

You’ll coordinate regulatory registrations, metering, billing and reporting, analyse network performance and support vulnerable customers, while working with internal teams and external providers to drive

Qualifications

• Knowledge of heat network regulation, metering, billing and tariffs.
• Awareness of the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme and related standards.
• Strong analytical skills with large datasets and Excel proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organisation and time management.
• Experience in compliance or regulatory reporting, stakeholder engagement, contract or supplier management; desirable in heat networks, housing, utilities or property services.
• A full UK driving licence and ability to attend sites across Salford.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate heat network registration, regulatory notifications and returns, ensuring records are accurate and deadlines met.
• Lead and coordinate metering, billing and technical assurance compliance, including tariff information and billing accuracy.
• Monitor network performance and analyse data to identify inefficiencies and improvements.
• Communicate tariffs clearly, handle enquiries and support vulnerable customers.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external providers on contracts, costs, income reconciliation and decarbonisation projects.
