Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Heart Failure Specialist Nurse to join the Community Heart Failure service. You will manage a caseload, lead clinics, assess, investigate, and optimise treatment, and work with primary care, cardiology and community services.

You will be a registered nurse with significant heart failure experience and may pursue a V300 prescribing qualification and a postgraduate qualification in heart failure management.

Qualifications

• You will be a registered nurse with significant heart failure experience.
• Willing to gain a V300 prescribing qualification.
• Postgraduate qualification in heart failure management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of patients with heart failure and exercise professional judgement.
• Lead nurse‑led heart failure clinics in primary care for complex patients.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and make clinical decisions on treatment.
• Independently prescribe heart failure medications in line with NICE guidance.
