Job description

The Healthy Relationship Worker will be responsible for supporting both young people and families around topics relating to relationships and sexual health through delivery of one-to-one and group work support.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide a support service to young people across Cardiff, working in partnership with statutory and voluntary professionals to ensure young people are supported with their sexual health and relationship needs.
2. Plan, deliver, and evaluate one-to-one and group activities that support the sexual health and wellbeing of young people in Cardiff, with a particular focus on vulnerable young people and those at risk.
3. Have a good understanding of current issues affecting young people, focusing on relationships, teenage pregnancy, and risk factors associated with teenage pregnancy.
4. Support the administration and coordination of the C-Card scheme.
5. Work with local and national partners to help young people access appropriate information and advice regarding relationships and sexual health.
6. Maintain records and provide reports to funders and senior management as necessary.
7. Promote the service to relevant partners in health, education, and social services, including an active social media presence.
8. Maintain accurate records of young people accessing the service and statistical data to enable effective evaluation for funders.
9. Attend various staff team meetings, both internal and external.
10. Participate in training sessions as agreed with the line manager.
11. Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.
12. Respect the Christian ethos of the YMCA and uphold its values.
13. Perform other duties as deemed relevant and appropriate by management to ensure the smooth operation of the organization, including covering roles in their absence.
