Job summary

Referment is seeking a hands-on Product Engineer to transform ambiguous ideas into reliable, production-ready features. You will collaborate with machine-learning engineers and clinicians to deliver value across end-to-end product delivery in a regulated health-tech setting.

You will own features from design to release, design APIs and data models, and ensure robust testing and thoughtful trade-offs in a fast-paced startup environment in the UK.

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on full-stack proficiency with Python, React, and AWS.
• A product-minded mindset with ownership of substantial features from design to release.
• Ability to understand requirements from clinicians and engineers and balance trade-offs.
• Comfort working with incomplete specifications and making independent product and engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship complex, AI-enabled full-stack features from initial scoping through production release.
• Design sensible APIs, data models and application flows that scale with the product.
• Collaborate with technical colleagues and clinical users to clarify requirements and improve workflows.
• Test features thoroughly and handle real-world state, data flow and edge cases.
• Move quickly in a startup environment while managing scope and avoiding avoidable debt.
