Job summary

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a part-time Healthcare Support Worker for the School Aged Immunisation Service in Witney. The role involves organising, managing and delivering school-based immunisation sessions, with attendance at schools and community clinics to provide administrative support and vaccinate as trained.

Flexibility is essential, including early starts and travel across Oxfordshire; mileage is paid.

Qualifications

• Trained vaccinator with Level 3+ NHS framework and at least 2 years clinical NHS/Primary Care/Community Health experience.
• Level 3+ and recent immunisation role experience required.
• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in schools.

Responsibilities

• Support School Aged Immunisation team to organise, manage and deliver immunisation sessions.

Job description

Your role will be to support the School Aged Immunisation team in organising, managing and delivering the school-based immunisation programme in all schools. You will be required to attend immunisation sessions in schools and community clinics to provide administrative support and within your role as Healthcare Support Worker you will be required to administer the Flu vaccinations to young people following the supply of the vaccine by an appropriately Registered Healthcare Professional. You will also be required to attend vaccination sessions to observe students who may feel unwell post vaccination. Full training will be provided. The role requires travel to schools and community venues, so you need to be a car driver with access to a car. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010. Mileage from base will be paid.

We're recruiting a part-time Healthcare Support Worker (22.5 hours/week, term-time only) to join our School Aged Immunisation Service, based in Witney Community Hospital, working flexibly across the north and west of Oxfordshire. We're looking for a proactive, adaptable, and motivated individual with strong administration and clinical skills. We are also looking for experience working with children or young people, ideally in schools. Flexibility is essential, with some early starts (from 07:30), evening/weekend work, and travel across Oxfordshire as needed.

Eligibility

• Trained and worked as a vaccinator in a COVID/vaccination centre
• Level 3+ on the NHS Careers Framework with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience working in NHS/Primary Care/Dental or Community Health Care settings
• Level 3+ and recent immunisation role experience
