As the main acute general surgical ward here at NBT, Ward 33B cares for a broad range of patients across various specialties, including general surgery, urology, and gastrointestinal services.

You will work closely with our team to deliver compassionate, high-quality, and responsive care to meet our patients' needs.

Experience in a care role would be advantageous but is not essential. This role is ideal for candidates new to healthcare or those seeking a new challenge in an acute setting.

As a Healthcare Support Worker, your responsibilities will include direct patient care while maintaining patient dignity and privacy. You will work alongside a registered nurse to provide essential nursing care and assist patients with daily tasks such as:

• Helping patients feel comfortable and move around
• Monitoring patients and performing basic health checks
• Assisting with washing, dressing, and toileting
• Serving meals and helping with feeding

Qualified and experienced Healthcare Support Workers may also perform clinical duties with minimal supervision after completing clinical skills training, including:

• Blood pressure monitoring
• Oxygen saturation measurement
• Body temperature checks
• Pulse and respiration rate monitoring
• Glucose testing
• Wound swabs
• Collection and testing of urine, fecal, and sputum samples

The overarching goal is to deliver high-quality patient care consistently.
