Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Medical Devices Technician to maintain and support medical devices across the Trust, ensuring readiness and compliance of resuscitation equipment and operating within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

The role involves planned maintenance, fault-finding, acceptance testing, and assisting with deployment of new devices into clinical areas, with regular weekend work as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance and repair of medical devices.
• Ability to conduct acceptance testing of equipment.
• Ability to assist rollout of new devices into clinical areas.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), servicing, inspection and repair on a range of non‑complex to moderately complex medical devices.
• Perform routine fault-finding using diagnostic techniques to identify and resolve issues.
• Support the safe condemnation and disposal of medical devices.
• Conduct acceptance testing for new and loaned equipment before clinical use.
• Assist with the rollout of newly accepted devices into clinical areas.
• Contribute to Trust‑wide resuscitation equipment schemes to ensure readiness and compliance.
