A healthcare organization in Bournemouth seeks an Associate Practitioner to supervise Healthcare Support Workers and assist in laboratory analysis for disease diagnosis and treatment monitoring. Candidates should have at least 2 Science A Levels, preferably in Biology or Chemistry, and should possess excellent technical skills and attention to detail. Under the supervision of HCPC registered staff, Associate Practitioners assist in the analysis of blood, body fluids, tissues and cells to determine the presence or absence of disease, to enable diagnosis and to monitor the effectiveness of treatment. They also assist in analysis which enables population screening for inherited or malignant disorders. The post holder is responsible for the direct supervision of Healthcare Support Workers and assists in the maintenance and running of specialist equipment in all sections.
The post is to work within the Blood Sciences Laboratory across University Hospitals Dorset in Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry at Poole, and the Dorset Pathology Hub at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
