Job summary

LV Care Group in Jersey is seeking an experienced Practice Development Health Care Assistant to join the Care Academy. You will rotate across homes to deliver work-based training, assess competency, and support staff development with hands-on moving and handling and Care Certificate assessments.

The role requires at least 5 years as a Health Care Assistant, Level 2 Adult Care qualification, strong communication, and teaching/training skills.

Qualifications

• Level 2 RQF in Adult Care or Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years working as a Health Care Assistant.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Teaching/training experience (informal or formal).
• Own transport and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate with a range of people, both service users and staff.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure.
• 5 years residency.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and assessing work-based training, including moving/handling practical training and Care Certificate competencies.
• Contribute to development of evidence-based practice and incorporate evaluation into Practice Development.
• Facilitate involvement of service users/relatives to engage them in development and delivery.
• Be an active member of the Care Academy team at meetings and committees.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support safe, person-centred practice.
• Undertake clinical shifts to promote best practice and support the clinical team.
• Provide high quality care in line with regulatory standards and care plans.
• Review progress of care and report deterioration appropriately.
• Promote infection prevention and control policies.
• Encourage positive social interaction and participate in supervision/appraisals.
