Job summary

Kingsley Healthcare Group is seeking a dedicated Chef to plan and provide daily nutritious meals for residents, while ensuring safe, high-quality food within budget. You will lead and motivate kitchen staff and work closely with the Home Manager.

The role requires proven cooking skills, knowledge of nutrition, strong communication, and a commitment to health and safety standards in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
• Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various techniques.
• Knowledge of nutrition and ability to develop resident menus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily menus meeting residents' nutritional needs.
• Prepare meals that are appetizing and within budget.
• Monitor stock levels and order supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of food orders and inventory.
• Ensure food storage, preparation and service meet safety standards.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff in cooking and service.
• Enforce health, safety and hygiene procedures.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized; deep cleaning as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Build positive relationships with residents and families, respond to feedback.
