Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join The Beaumont Hospital in Bolton. This 22.5-hour-per-week role forms part of the nursing team and requires flexible shifts.

Duties include supporting patients with daily care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with basic clinical tasks under supervision. Applicants should have care or health support experience, strong communication, and the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or health support role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
• Carry out and record routine observations (blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, SpO2, glucose).
• Support basic clinical procedures (wound care setup, catheter care, pressure area prevention, mobility aids).
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas and equipment for patient use.
• Work with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support safe patient care.

Healthcare Assistant - Wards The Beaumont Hospital 22.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: £24,947.00 FTE per year

The Beaumont Hospital in Bolton Is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the nursing department. This is a part- time role for 22.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment in readiness for patient use.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and escape concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
