Job summary

Change Grow Live in Lancashire is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join Smokefree Lancashire, delivering person-centred interventions to improve health and wellbeing for service users.

You will carry out assessments, engage service users, support harm reduction, and work with the Nursing team to develop pathways to care, while upholding our core values. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and permanent, with pro rata payments for part-time hours.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills
• Experience of working within substance misuse or a social care setting would be an advantage but not essential
• A clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services
• Good organisational skills
• Confidence to work on own initiative as well as part of the team
• Communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing
• Respond flexibly to the demands of the post

Responsibilities

• Representing Smokefree Lancashire and CGL in a professional manner on all occasion
• Empower and proactively engage service users to address their tobacco addiction using evidence-based interventions, in line with the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT)
• Carry out lung health checks in line with National Standards
• Working closely with your Nursing team to develop pathways to care
• Support service users in opiate and alcohol interventions.
• You will support on harm reduction interventions along with physical and mental health assessments.
